The Newport World Cup Planning Committee has been contacted by numerous local Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. Their communication is listed below in the order of contact.
Victoria Skylar Bed and Breakfast
The Victoria Skylar Bed and Breakfast, is located at 107 Second St. in the historic Point section of Newport on the bay. We are within walking distance (four blocks) from America's Cup Avenue, and all the restaurants and shops, as well as the harbor. We are a Victorian Bed and Breakfast. All rooms have queen beds, tiled baths, TV/DVD, and WiFi access. Fax and copy machine are available at no cost to our guests. We will provide drop-off service to the harbor area, and pick-up for guests needing this service to and from the races.
We are providing a discount rate for any crew, family, or friends coming to Newport for this event. Anyone looking for accommodations should mention that they are part of the 6mR in order to receive the discount rates, as they are only available to crew, family, and friends of this event. All bookings must be secured prior to August 1st, as September is a very busy month, and I cannot guarantee availability after August 1st.
The discount rate per night will be $200.00 plus seven percent state tax. This includes full gourmet breakfast, fruit, snacks, and bottled water throughout the day, as well as coffee and tea. In the evening, we will be doing a complementary wine and cheese. Anyone looking to book all four rooms in the house will receive a special discounted rate of $3500.00 (plus seven percent state tax) for the four rooms for five nights. Additional nights can be purchased at a discounted rate as well. This includes all of the amenities above. Maximum occupancy is two people per room, for a total of eight.

Hello! We met at the CVB last month. Below is the information for our inn for the week of the 6Metre World Cup. If at all possible, we would greatly appreciate a link on the event website under accommodations! If you have any questions, please feel free to email or call us!
We have several rooms with queen beds, one room with two twin beds, and a king bedded suite. All rooms have private baths, most have televisions and refrigerators. A full breakfast is served each day (a continental breakfast "to go" bag can also be made available with advance notice). Snacks and refreshments are served each day. Private off-street parking is provided. We are located on Spring Street, one block up from IYRS. Regular room rates are: Queen bedded room or two twins: $170 Sunday through Thursday and $240 on Friday and Saturday. The king bedded suite is $200 Sunday through Thursday and $270 on Friday and Saturday. For guests for the 6Metre World Cup, we are offering a 10% discount when staying 2 or 3 days and a 20% discount when staying 4 days or more.

I have a 2 BR furnished apt in downtown Newport for rent. I'm finishing up the renovation/restoration now to be ready for summer rentals (which I will start booking in April). Everything done but the kitchen (new wood floors, granite counters, lighting, cabinets, sink, dishwasher, etc.) House is undergoing total first class restoration. I've lived here for the past 10 years, sail (have a Tempest, town mooring). Your sailors/families will be made to feel welcome. Please note that this is a historic house, lovingly restored and damage/abuse will not be tolerated. Damage security deposit is a must. I would prefer not to have any problems, so ounce of prevention worth pound of cure attitude. Don't mean to come across harsh but this is my home as well as a business.
